Bio
Short
Microplastic Brain is a five-piece alternative indie rock band with progressive roots, based in Falls Church, Virginia. Our name predicted that microplastics would be found in human tissue, including the brain.
We play local venues, festivals, and private parties. We can play full rock-band or acoustic.
Long
Microplastic Brain plays alternative indie rock with progressive roots. The five-piece is Frank Oelschlager (vocals, guitar), Patrick Nolan (drums, mandolin, vocals), Hunt Allard (flute, sax), Erich Izdepski (keys) and Anthony Carroll (bass). We picked the name one night at the now defunct Earps Ordinary, before research began finding microplastics in the human body. Based in Falls Church, Virginia, we play as a full band or acoustic, at breweries, festivals, porch fests and private parties, including Magnolia Hill Music Festival 2026 and North Springfield Porch Fest.
